In Germany, pigs and pennies are both good luck! A very common item given to new married couples would be a penny (pfennig in German). This way they could never say that they were "broke". Pigs are also considered good luck, because if you have one, you can sell it, or use it for food! That makes the Fortune Pig *Double* Good Luck!
